Beginner Gardener + First time Hydroponics Builder

Hi guys, I'm new to growing my own things at home. I'm an aspiring chef who just got her degree. Still in school, I'm trying to understand sustainable energy and Hydroponics to expand my usefulness outside the kitchen. Right now I have one deep culture system and 6 plants in soil. I'm growing: Indigo Rose Tomatoes in my Hydroponics system, blackberries, dragon fruit, bananas, pomegranates, Lavender, and a typical house plant. All my plants are relatively young they are about or almost a year old. It's pretty cold over here in New Jersey so I had to bring them in and they all look a little disappointed. I hope to upload some videos soon, it'll be nice to get some feedback about how to take better care of my plants so I can make sure they can survive till next spring when I put them back outside. I will be receiving a new addition to my collection next week, and hopefully I can journalize it from seed until plant. I'm getting blue strawberries! It'll be fun to start a new Hydroponics System but I haven't really figured out which kind to build. I have an apartment, and space is very very very limited, so I'm thinking maybe a 5 gal bucket and turning that into a deep culture, and putting a pvc pipe in there to train the plant to grow up and around to save space. That's all for today and hopefully the next entry will have a quick video of my plants.
